Abraham and Halstead take individual honours at Midland Schools
Luca Abraham of Derbyshire and Maisie Halstead of Warwickshire were the Boy and Girl winners of the Midlands Schools’ Championships at a windy Collingtree Park on Thursday last. Luca scored a best of the day 72 to beat Fynn Colley of Leicestershire by a stroke, with Max Storer 3rd a further 3 strokes back. Maisie played solidly all day to score 153, and beat Millie Marsh of Nottinghamshire by 6 strokes, with Chloe Searson-Best of Derbyshire a further stroke back.
Derbyshire retained the team title, winning the Team competition for the 3rd year running, overhauling Leicestershire and Warwickshire in the afternoon, after being 7 strokes adrift after the morning, eventually beating Leicestershire by 4 strokes.
